I am created in the image of God. I am forgiven by him, at peace with him and am his child (as are you).
I am a son to two parents who would give their life for me if called upon (thanks mom and dad).
I am the husband of one beautiful, sensitive and deeply caring woman (I love you Jen).
I am the father of two (soon to be three?) children whom I would give my life for (Caleb, you make me proud and are a great lover of God and people. Ashlyn, you are the most adorable girl I know…some guy is going to be VERY lucky).
I am also a dog owner (Cheddar…woof, woof, arf).
I live in Folsom, CA (yes, the home of that prison made famous by Johnny Cash) where I have a great group of friends whom I love, accept and enjoy; jazzed, as I am often more of an observer of how God is working in their hearts and lives to draw them to Him. I am studying at Fuller (on their 27 year plan) and am in the midst of a career change, gearing up for working in the Sacramento Country Probation Department to try to live out the way and hope of Jesus to those coming out of incarceration.
My motivational spiritual gift is that of a prophet. I am an INFP.
I also host a blog called A Mending Shift which focuses on how we can join God in his work of mending, which is going on all around us, in and outside of the church…all we have to do is, as Rob Bell put it, live in tune to God’s song. This mending, I have found, often comes with a shift in thinking and living.
So, now that you know a bit more “about” me, I would love to know more about you. I’d love to hear, or read, your story. Who knows, maybe we can even sit down over a cup of coffee and move beyond knowing “about” each other, to knowing each other––I feel God wants the same in his friendship with us, his children.
